In limited cases, and in conjunction with the recently passed Sidewalk Snow Removal Bill, the Department of Transportation, Division of Highway Services is developing a targeted approach for the removal of snow from certain high traffic public areas and not fronting private and commercial property. This may include some high traffic pedestrian corridors, access routes to public transit, high volume intersections, and some ADA ramps. Some of areas are being inventoried and studied for possible inclusion into this program. Additionally, Ride On Transit Services is clearing snow from high volume bus stops throughout their network. However, it is important to note that the Sidewalk Snow Removal Bill does not give residents permission to leave their sidewalks covered in snow and ice. The County will only be removing snow from certain corridors, not sidewalks County wide.
