The Montgomery County Community Action Agency's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is offering free tax help from January 22, 2024, through April 11, 2024, for 2023 taxes only. Help with prior year (2020 - 2022), current year and amended returns will be offered from June through October 2024. During the tax season, appointments are available for County residents with household incomes of $64,000 or less. In-person appointments are available Mondays from 2:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Casey Community Center, 810 S Frederick Avenue, Gaithersburg: Tuesdays from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the TESS Community Action Center, 8703 Flower Ave, Silver Spring; Tuesdays from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Community Action office, located at 1401 Rockville Pike, Suite 320, Rockville; Wednesdays from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Community Action Agency office, 1401 Rockville Pike, Suite 320 in Rockville; and Thursdays from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at WorkSource Montgomery, 11510 Georgia Avenue, Wheaton. Virtual appointments are available on Fridays from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
