Electronics and Battery Pick Up Request

Residents receiving Montgomery County-provided recycling collection may have electronic items and household batteries (alkaline and rechargeable) collected as part of their curbside recycling service.

Electronics are items with circuit boards including televisions, monitors, computers and related items, audio equipment, cables, appliances, etc. For a list of acceptable and unacceptable items, please click on the link below. Residents must schedule collection services for electronics and batteries in advance with the County. The collection will be made between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM on the resident's recycling collection day. All items must be placed at the curb by 7:00 AM on the day of collection. Small electronic items should be placed in a small cardboard box. Household batteries should be placed in plastic containers with a lid or in plastic Ziploc-type bags. The ends of batteries should be covered with a piece of non-metallic tape. Do not place electronic items or batteries in blue recycling bins or in trash containers.

To schedule an electronics collection, please confirm that the residents are receiving Montgomery County-provided recycling collection service. Please make an itemized list of all the items to be collected (note: batteries and small electronic items will only be collected as part of a larger pick-up of these items). Electronic requests must be submitted by 7:00 PM the day before the regularly scheduled recycling pickup day. Residents wishing to cancel an existing request need to call 311 by 7:00 PM the business day before their collection day.
