Workforce Housing Program

Montgomery County's Workforce Housing (WFH) Program makes affordable housing available for rent and purchase to households who live and work in Montgomery County, but whose incomes are too high to participate in the County's Moderately Priced Dwelling Unit (MPDU) program. An overview of the program and the eligibility requirements is available in the first link.

To receive announcements about available WFH units, click on the second link to subscribe to the County?s eSubscription service and select Housing and Community Affairs/Workforce Housing under Subscription Topics.

Notice to all Workforce Housing homeowners: The Department of Housing and Community Affairs has sent out letters to confirm if you are still using the home as your primary residence. This is a requirement of the County Code and WFH Covenants through ownership of your WFH unit. To make sure that this requirement is followed. You must complete the 2026 WFH Homeowners Verification Form (formerly called certification of residence), along with the required documents to DHCA by May 31, 2026, via mail or the email address on the form (all emailed submittals will receive email confirmation). Please refer to the third link to open the form instructions and the list of documents required to prove current residency

For questions about the WFH program where information is not available on the website, please contact 311 during regular business hours. They can create a service request for a response from a DHCA representative.
