Inquiry About Water Quality Protection Charge

The Water Quality Protection Charge (WQPC) is a line item on property tax bills and is a charge based on the amount of hard, impervious surface of a property (e.g., roof, sidewalk, and driveway). WQPC funds many of the County's clean water initiatives including:

Restoration of eroded stream banks

Upgrades to stormwater ponds

Storm drain cleaning and maintenance

Stream monitoring

Litter control programs

Stormwater facility maintenance

Installation of rain barrels, rain gardens and green roofs

Property owners who own and maintain an onsite stormwater management practice will also be eligible to apply for a reduction in the charge.

Online customers requesting to speak directly with a DEP staff member regarding the WQPC may click on the "Create Service Request" button below. Please complete all required fields, and provide any information that will help DEP address the issue in the "Additional Information" box.

For inquiries requiring the response of a DEP investigator, requestors will typically be contacted within 3 days although resolution of the issue may take longer depending on the circumstances of the case.
