How to Renew the Moderately Priced Dwelling Unit (MPDU) Purchase Certificate or Re-Apply to the Program

MPDU Certificates for purchasing MPDUs are valid for one year. You may renew your Certificate beginning 60 days prior to the expiration date. If you are not able to renew your certificate by 90 days after the expiration date, you will need to re-start the MPDU application process and will lose any points awarded when your certificate was valid.

Renewing a certificate that has not expired or passed the 90 days expiration, only requires taking the MPDU Application Tutorial.

If you re-apply 90 days past the certificate's expiration date or when an application was denied, you will be required to attend, the Application Tutorial and any MPDU class(es) that have not been taken within the past two years.

For more information, please refer to the first line below and go to the topic "Renew Your Certificate or Re-Apply". To find your certificate's expiration date refer to the second link. To retake a required class when the MPDU certificate is 90 days past the certificate's expiration date or when an application was denied, applicants must send a prescreening Intake form to the agency hosting the classes: The Greater Washington Urban League (GWUL) at email: MPDU@GWUL.org. Refer to the third link to download the form.
