The Holiday Giving Project (HGP) for holiday food baskets and gift giving, including toys when available, will open for referrals on September 22, 2025, for Montgomery County residents in financial need. This includes Thanksgiving and December Holidays.

A referral to the program is not a guarantee of service, as the County relies on community donations which can be limited and vary. Every effort is made to fulfill all requests.

For a referral, contact your case worker, the agency that provides service or other benefits, HOC resident counselor or your child's MCPS pupil personnel worker or school counselor. If you are a recipient of income support benefits, you may call: 240.777.1003 for a referral.

The deadline for a Thanksgiving referral is October 24, 2025; the deadline for a December referral is November 21, 2025.
