The Department of Health and Human Services, Housing Stabilization Services, is no longer offering financial assistance to Montgomery County residents who need help with moving or storage after experiencing an eviction. However, if one has experienced a housing emergency, and these services are requested, housing stabilization staff may be able to coordinate with the Department of Housing and Community Affairs (DHCA) for any available financial assistance based upon eligibility and need.
Housing Stabilization may also be able to assist with a security deposit and the first month's rent up to $3000 for a new dwelling, after a housing emergency. A face-to-face interview must be conducted in one of the three offices. Customers are seen on a first-come, first-served basis, however, one may do an interview by phone or by appointment. If an office visit is preferred, it is recommended that office visits be scheduled as well.
Online users who would like to be considered for assistance and be contacted by a departmental staff member may submit a request by clicking on the Create Service Request button below. Please complete all the fields in the Contact Information section then scroll down to the bottom of the page and provide a brief description of the request in the Brief Description field.
