Letters have been sent to 6,000 randomly selected households in Montgomery County inviting those residents to participate in the County's 2026 resident satisfaction survey. Those households can take the survey online with the link and access code provided in the letter and will also receive a paper copy of the survey which may be used to respond instead of going online if desired. A reminder letter will be sent to all 6,000 households, which can be ignored if the household has already taken the survey online or mailed back the paper copy. The survey must be taken by October 19, 2026 to be counted. County leadership and management use the data from the survey to inform decision-making and to help shape the future of Montgomery County, and some of the ratings are also indicators for County Government performance. There is an identical public "opt-in" online survey that will allow all other County residents to respond to the same exact questions as the random-sample survey and share their opinions. The link and survey will be open until October 19, 2026. No personally identifying information will be shared. For the opt-in survey we ask for a zip code only to help aggregate responses (the platform asks if respondents want to provide an email address at the end, but it is not mandatory and the question can be skipped).
