License Requirement For Room Rental Inside Household

An owner occupying his/her home is permitted to rent to up to five (5) unrelated people or two (2) unrelated people and their families (children, parents, siblings, or other adopted or blood relatives) without obtaining a rental facility license. The rented room width must be at least 7 feet and a total of 70 square feet for occupancy. A rental license is required if the owner does not reside in the home.
