The Aging and Disability Resource Unit (ADRU) takes calls regarding abuse, neglect, self-neglect and/or financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult (age 18 or older) at 240.777.3000. A vulnerable adult is someone who is unable to make decisions on their own behalf due to a mental and/or medical or health condition, that renders someone physically unable to care for themselves. This may also include instances of a hoarding or someone who is a hoarder.

For situations on weekends, and overnight (between 5:00 PM and 8:30 AM) on weekdays, and holidays, call Montgomery County Crisis Center at 240.777.4000. The Crisis Center will further evaluate and make any necessary referrals.
