A transportation company or driver inquiring about permits to transport alcohol beverages in Maryland will need to obtain a Public Transportation Permit. To ensure compliance with Maryland state laws, any company or broker transporting alcohol within the state must obtain a Public Transportation (PT) permit. The VID is essential for maintaining compliance with state regulations, ensuring that all alcohol transport activities meet legal standards. Each truck in the company's fleet will need its own VID (vehicle identification card). Employers will need to fill out sections 1,5 and 10 of the Form 328 on the ATCC website. Check boxes for PT-Public Transportation, and Vehicle Identification Card. They accept checks or money orders payable to Alcohol, Tobacco, Cannabis Comm. Permits expire on October 31st of each year.
