The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will adjust 6 Ride On bus route schedules, add the new Route 40 and discontinue Route 10 on Sunday, June 29, to ensure consistent service amidst Metro service changes due to the Better Bus Network implementation and Ride On Reimagined Year 1 Implementation.
Significant changes are referenced below and other changes for several routes can be reviewed in the Ride On Service Changes link.
- Route 29 - Trip time adjustments for efficiency, Weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
- Route 40 - new Ride On bus Route.
- Route 10 - will be discontinued.
- Routes 34 - Will no longer provide service between Bethesda and Friendship Heights. Bus service on Wisconsin Avenue from Bethesda to Friendship Heights will be provided by new Metrobus. Route D96
- Route 41 - Will be extended south to Wheaton Metro Station to replace Route 34 and L8 service on parts of Connecticut Avenue. All-day and weekend service on Plyers Mill Road between Kensington and Wheaton will also be added.
- Route 43 - Trips towards Traville Transit Center will add stops at Shady Grove Road & Choke Cherry Road and Life Sciences East. Trip time adjustments for efficiency on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
