Safety of Local Stream Water for Contact or Consumption

Many county streams have flowing water that is safe for skin or other human contact, although be aware of warning signs such as agricultural, sewer, or decaying plant and animal smells. Broken sewer lines, pesticide or manure application, or storm water directly in streams may be indicative of water quality problems and may not be safe for the creatures and people that live in and visit the stream.
