Maryland Responds Medical Reserve Corps

Any individual who wishes to volunteer in a medical or public health capacity should register with the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC). The MRC is a national network of community-based groups of volunteers, medical and public health professional and others, who assist communities in activities that promote and strengthen public health, emergency response, and community resiliency. The MRC supports a variety of public health services during a crisis, such as assisting with mass distribution of antibiotics, vaccines, or mass sheltering and supporting many other vital public health mission areas. Volunteers may also serve a vital role by assisting their communities with ongoing public health needs (e.g., immunizations, screenings, health and nutrition education, surveillance and disease outbreak investigations).

To register, please go to the first link below. Once a registration is started, the MRC Coordinator for the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Program is notified and will walk the registrant through the process of completing membership.
