Call-n-Ride (CNR) Trips and Program Information

The Call-n-Ride (CNR) Program is a County and State subsidized transportation program designed specifically as a supplement to Montgomery County's local transportation service. Subsidy assistance is provided on a sliding fee scale determined by total household income. Participants are allowed to make one-time payment a month based on their level of income and County gives them subsidy. Combined balance is used for taxicab service in the County.

The program provides transportation subsidies, utilizing MC taxicabs, by program participants - low-income seniors (63 years & older) and low-income individuals with disabilities (aged 18-62), AND/OR Montgomery County current MetroAccess participants for medical and/or personal appointments. All trips must begin and end in Montgomery County. Special exceptions have been made to allow transportation to the designated medical facilities. Please see the Designated Service Area (DSA) List for the Approved Medical Facilities. Pre-authorization is required for any Out of County trips with medical providers (only) that are not on the DSA list, and requests must be made 1 or 2 business days in advance by calling the CNR office. For booking Out of Area medical trips or other program information contact CNR program office at 301.948.5409, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
