To report a suspected rabid animal, please notify the Office of Animal Services via the police non-emergency number, 301.279.8000. Common indicators of rabies include unprovoked aggression, a wild animal acting unusually friendly towards humans, an animal drooling heavily and an animal staggering or suffering from paralysis. A normally nocturnal animal seen during daytime hours, and acting normally, is not an indicator of rabies.
