Annual registration notices from the Licensing and Registration (L&R) Office, including a copy of the COC annual registration form, are in the mail. The due date for completion is July 9, 2025 (extended from June 30). Instructions are in the letter.
L&R oversees registration of Common Ownership Communities (COC) which includes Homeowners Associations (HOA), Condominium Associations (COA) and CO-OPS located in Montgomery County, the City of Rockville and City of Takoma Park. It does not apply to properties within the incorporated Municipalities of the City of Gaithersburg, City of the Town of Garrett Park, Town of Laytonsville, Town of Poolesville, Town of Somerset and Town of Washington Grove. You may wish to contact the local municipalities for further information on requirements.
Annually, COC representatives are required to update information about their COC online and provide contact information. Additionally, the Montgomery County Code requires COCs to provide a rental list of all condominiums, townhomes, or single-family homes for rent in the COC community.
COC representatives are required to have an AccessMCG account to access the COC Portal on the Licensing and Registration website. Updates to the COC registration information and/or lists of rental properties by paper, mail, email, or fax are no longer accepted. All COCs are sent instructions on how to access the Licensing and Registration Online Network with Logon Credentials including Registration number and Community Name.
