The Housing Opportunities Commission (HOC) offers various types of homeownership programs and resources to eligible first time homebuyers purchasing homes in Montgomery County, Maryland. Two primary programs are available: the Closing Cost Assistance Program and First Trust Mortgage Program.

The Closing Cost Assistance Program (CCAP) can be used for a down payment and/or closing costs and is provided as a secured second mortgage that is amortized over 10 years at a 5% interest rate. The maximum loan is 5% of the home sale price, not to exceed $10,000. To qualify, you must work in Montgomery County, MD.

The First Trust Mortgage program provides lower interest rate financing to qualified first time home buyers purchasing in Montgomery County, MD.
