Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is partnering with Moovit, a bus trip planning mobile application software company, launched a bus passenger load and trip planner application in June 5, 2023. The application is available on both iPhone (Apple Store) and Android (Google Play).

Ride On Trip Planner enables passengers to plan a trip from beginning to end and get quick access to recent and favorite trips. Once the starting point and destination have been established, the passenger may pick a route based on duration, departure or arrival times and transit types. Tapping the preferred route will give step-by-step directions, including notifications of when the passenger should exit the bus. In addition, the application will be available in 45 different languages.

The application also provides real-time notification of how crowded a Ride On bus is "before" it arrives and what time it will arrive at a bus stop. Ride On trip planner includes Ride On, Metrobus, Metrorail, The Bus, bikeshare, and scooters. In addition, passengers may also book ride hailing services such as Uber and Lyft, directly from the screen. All local transit options in one application!
