Roadway Resurfacing or Repaving

The Department of Transportation (DOT) utilizes a Pavement Management System that systematically evaluates the pavement conditions in the County. This system is used to develop annual paving (resurfacing) schedules consistent with annual budgets. A county website contains a list of streets that will be repaved during the annual construction season which generally runs from March through November.

Most County-maintained roadways do not have a route number assigned. Numbered roads are generally the responsibility of the State of Maryland (301.513.7300). Municipalities such as City of Rockville (240.314.8500) and Gaithersburg (301.258.6370) are responsible for their own roadways or sidewalks within city limits.
