Applying or Recertifying for the Rental Assistance Program within the Department of Health and Human Services

The County Rental Assistance Program (RAP) is a Montgomery County funded program to help low-income households meet their monthly ongoing rental expenses. This program is currently not accepting new applications. All referrals and exceptions that were that were received prior to August 20, 2024, that have not been processed will be placed on a waiting list in date order of receipt to be pulled when funding is available.

All pre-applications received prior to August 20, 2024, in which an application has not been sent, will also be placed on the waiting list, and sent an application when funding becomes available. The eligibility criteria are as follows: any person in the household must have a documented disability or be age 55 years of older; and applicant must be experiencing homelessness or in imminent threat of homelessness. Eligible customers can receive from $100 up to $503 per month towards their rental costs.
