A short-term residential rental is the residential occupancy of a room, apartment, detached single-family home, townhouse, or condominium for less than 30 consecutive days for a specific rental fee. It includes a bed and breakfast or properties listed with listing agents such as Airbnb unit (note, an accessory dwelling unit or ADU, is not considered a short-term residential rental).
Property owners must pay a fee for an annual license, as well as pay the County's room rental transient tax through the Department of Finance, Division of Treasury. There may be other fees and/or requirements for each type of rental. A list of frequently asked questions including details for each type of rental, and the steps for applying for a license is provided in links below.
If you want to operate short term residential rental or a bed and breakfast or are currently doing so without a license or your license has expired, please apply online.
Additionally, program requirements and how to apply and for other permits (if applicable) can also be found in links below.
