Snow Emergency Route Definition

A County snow emergency route displays prominent red and white signs that designate certain roads as snow emergency routes that are kept clear throughout storms for police, fire and other emergency vehicles. The State and County do not always declare snow emergencies at the same time. If an emergency is declared, it is illegal on snow emergency routes to drive without snow tires, mud/snow radials, or chains or parking on these routes.
