The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) entitles eligible County employees to take up to twelve (12) workweeks of unpaid, job-protected leave for qualifying family and medical reasons with continuation of group health insurance coverage under the same terms and conditions as if the employee had not taken leave. Employees are eligible for FMLA if they have been employed by Montgomery County for at least one year and worked a minimum of 1,040 hours in the previous 12 months.
