The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has opened a shelter starting this evening, for those who are displaced as a result of flooding. The location is:
Mid-County recreation Center
2004 Queensguard Road
Silver Spring, MD., 20906
HHS employees are staffing the center, including some who are on stand by if there are large numbers of residents visiting the center. The Red Cross is at the center, and the Montgomery County Crisis Team is on standby as well.
