The Department of Health and Human Services, Housing Stabilization Services, offers financial assistance to Montgomery County residents who need a security deposit or up to three month's rent for a new dwelling, or who are requesting help paying for storage. The move or need for storage must be related to a housing emergency. Grants are available to eligible customers. An interview must be conducted. In the office, customers are seen on a first come, first served basis, however, one may do an interview by phone or by appointment. If an office visit is preferred, it is recommended that office visits be scheduled as well.
