Report a Hate Crime or Bias Incident

The Montgomery County Community Engagement Division of Montgomery County Police has been established to address the increase in hate and bias-motivated threats, harassment, graffiti and violence throughout Montgomery County Maryland. If you are the victim or witness a Hate-Bias event, MCPD encourages you to report the incident. A bias-related incident may be motivated by the same reasons as a hate crime but is different because the initial action did not rise to the level of a criminal offense.

All are welcome to report hate crimes and bias incidents. If you want to report a hate crime to law enforcement immediately or you are in present danger, please call 911. This is not a law enforcement reporting portal.

Requestors who would like to remain anonymous, please tell the call center agent. Anonymous means that the requestor's name will not be released to anyone outside of the County, even under a Public Information Act (PIA) Request. The requestor's name and phone number are requested so that the responding department can contact the requestor to obtain additional information that may be required to address the complaint.

In the event you wish to report an incident outside of MC311 business hours (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM M-F), please click on the link below to fill out a form that will be directed to the Police Department.
