Beginning January 1, 2023, new COC units in the County will pay $6.50/unit. In FY24 (beginning July 1, 2023), all COC units in the County will pay $6.50/unit. COCs within the City of Gaithersburg will pay $5.00/unit for three years (from FY23 through FY25), but any new development units after January 1, 2023, will pay $6.50/unit.

The COC offers the following benefits: enhanced mediation services; greater public outreach and more expeditious complaint resolution; improved customer service, by streamlining program operations; doubling the number of investigators for faster service and improving office coordination to better meet customer expectations; better technology to facilitate increased feedback, and a new case management system and upgraded COC Registration system. These systems will provide greater interactivity, real-time feedback, and reporting, and leverage existing education and outreach resources to better serve the community.
