"All business licenses expire on April 30th every calendar year, regardless of when they were purchased during the year. Prior to obtaining or renewing a business license in Montgomery County, all personal property tax bills must be paid in full (note: there could be other reasons why a business may be in forfeited or not in good standing). Check the 311 portal for information on personal property business forfeited, or the State Business Express Office (link below). A business license application must first be submitted to the Montgomery County Department of Finance, Division of Treasury, at 27 Courthouse Square, Suite 200, Rockville, MD 20850. Finance will stamp the application indicating that all personal property taxes have been paid and forward to the Court when completed.

The application will be filed with Clerk of the Circuit Court-License Department, 50 Maryland Ave., North Tower, 1st Floor, Rm 1300, Rockville, MD 20850. Contact phone number: 240.777.9460.
