The gender inclusive restroom bill was signed into law on August 8, 2022. The law requires gender-inclusive restrooms in certain places of public accommodation and County-owned buildings; and to generally amend the law regarding discrimination in public accommodations. Furthermore, the law requires gender inclusive public single-use restrooms being made available to persons of any gender, and the use of gender inclusive signage.
The following County offices have authority to enforce: Department of Permitting Services for construction of new facilities and the Department of Health and Human Services for existing public restrooms.
