Montgomery Cares (MC) works with local clinics to offer medical services to low-income, underinsured, and uninsured residents in the community who do not qualify for Medicaid, Medicare, or commercial insurance.
The program offers medical check-ups by a doctor/nurse, sick visits by a doctor/nurse, medications, lab tests, x-rays, access to a specialist, access to oral health care and access to other health programs. There are eleven different health care agencies who provide services throughout Montgomery County.
Eligibility for the program is determined by contacting or visiting one of the participating community clinics. To be eligible an individual must be:
Age 18 or older Uninsured Have an income at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level A resident of Montgomery County Not enrolled or ineligible for health insurance including Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, or employee-sponsored coverage. Clinics participating in Montgomery Cares are included on this list in link 2. Contact or visit any of the clinics participating in the Montgomery Cares program to complete an application to be screened for eligibility. If the clinic determines specialty care is needed, they will provide a referral to HHS through Project Access.
