The new window guard law "Ezechiel's Law" applies only to rental apartments and condos in multifamily buildings located above the ground floor level effective January 1, 2022. Window guards or window stops must be installed in every habitable room when minor children under age 11 occupy the rental unit or when any tenant, with or without children, requests window guards to prevent windows from opening more than 4 inches.
