Commercial building, mechanical and electrical inspections may be scheduled online by using the prompts on the DPS webpage @ "Search for a Permit" page (click link) or call 311. The permit numbers must be available to schedule an inspection.

Enter the type of permit and permit number. On the "Schedule Inspection" tab enter the type and date of inspection and the contact ID number. If it is before 12:00 noon, select the date for the following day. If it is after 12:00 noon, then select the date for two days hence. A requestor may not schedule a specific inspection time or time period. Contact the inspector for an approximate time for the inspection. The system will list the date of inspection, inspector name and telephone number and provide a confirmation number.

DPS inspectors begin their schedule as early as 7:00 AM. DPS cannot guarantee that the inspection will occur during a particular timeframe.

NOTE: The inspector assigned at the time the inspection is scheduled may not be the inspector assigned to the inspection. Inspector's work assignment are scheduled each morning by 7:00 AM. For the most current schedule, customers should go to the DPS website, or contact 311 on the morning of the inspection.
