The Montgomery County Maryland, Fire and Rescue Service Length of Service Award Program (LOSAP) was enacted by County Council legislation on July 1, 1975 to recognize and reward volunteer firefighters, rescuers, medical attendants, and administrative members who provide specified level of fire and rescue service to their Community. LOSAP provides financial benefits to volunteers through an accumulative point system for Local Fire and Rescue Departments in Montgomery County. The management of the LOSAP program is handled exclusively by Montgomery County Fire and Rescue and is not part of the County government's Office of Human Resources.
