Tree Montgomery provides free shade trees to property owners in Montgomery County. The program also provides assistance on how to care for the newly planted trees. The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is looking for places to plant shade trees on private land - residential, multi-family, parking lots, as well as HOA land and businesses.
The Tree Montgomery program will work with private property owners to select locations and species. The shade trees are planted in the spring and fall.
When planted they will be 12-15 feet tall, and will grow to at least 50 feet in height.
Property owners interested in free shade trees should fill out the form on the website.
