The current fee for service of process are as follows:
*$5 for service of summary ejectment papers (failure to pay rent).
*$60 for service of a paper not including an execution or attachment such as Summons/Notices, Show Causes or Subpoenas (A Sheriff may not collect a fee for the service of a law enforcement officer to appear as a witness in a criminal case).
$60 for service of process papers arising out of administrative agency proceedings where the party requesting the service is a nongovernmental entity.
$60 for service of a paper originating from a foreign court (out of state paper).
$40 for service including an execution or attachment by taking into custody a person or seizing real or personal property.
$40 for service of a paper for a breach of lease; a tenant holdover; a warrant of restitution, a wrongful entry and detainer; an order of levy in distress. (Checks should be made payable to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.) There are no fees for service of Domestic Violence related process.
