Montgomery County does not require any further action after the payoff of a mortgage loan. Taxpayers will receive a tax bill in July that will have a coupon attached to the bottom of the bill and the bill is due on September 30th of every year. If the property is the principal residence, the tax bill will have two coupons attached. One half of the bill is due on September 30th and the second half of the bill is due on December 31st of every year.
