The initial taxicab meter charge or drop rate is $4 and passengers are then charged 0.50 for each succeeding 1/5 mile, in addition to any waiting and traffic delay charges ($28 an hour). There is no charge for use of a taxicab trunk unless the driver is loading and unloading a customer's packages. The charge for Personal service for loading items is $1. There is no charge for children younger than five years of age when accompanied by an adult or for a personal care attendant accompanying a person with disabilities.
