Home Weatherization

The Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP) and Electric Universal Service Program (EUSP) programs offer a Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) to help homeowners and renters make the home more energy efficient at no cost to eligible households as funds are available. The goal of the program is to help owners reduce their fuel bills by lowering the energy consumption needed to heat and cool their homes. The weatherization services provided to approved applicants may include, but are not limited to:

A. Caulking, weather stripping, door sweeps, replacement of cracked or broken glass in windows and doors

B. Hot water heater jackets, duct wraps, pipe insulation and attic insulation

C. Furnace efficiency testing (gas and oil-fired furnaces only).

This is a ONE TIME ONLY Service and the work performed is of a permanent nature. After final inspection, the contractor does not return to make repairs at a later date.

For urgent matters related to heat or utilities, please see the topic entitled "Emergency Services".
