SNAP or Food Stamp Program Updates

As of Wednesday November 12, current Maryland SNAP customers have begun receiving benefits. Most customers will receive benefits equal to at least half of their October SNAP benefit.

Maryland began issuing benefits to the maximum extent permitted by the federal government, or when not federally funded, issued state funds to fill the federal shortfall. The Department of Human Services (DHS) will urgently continue to issue SNAP benefits as federal funds become available.

As of November 10, 2025, please see our modified Maryland SNAP issuance schedule:

Standard Issuance Date When can customers use their SNAP benefits

November 4-November 12 Customers can use their benefits on 11/11.

November 13-November 17 Customers can use benefits on their normal issuance days, based on last names.

November 18-November 24 Customers can use benefits on their normal issuance days, based on last names.

The State will continue to process new SNAP applications. Cash benefits including Temporary Disability Assistance Program and Temporary Cash Assistance will still be issued in November, and Medical Assistance Programs are not immediately affected by the shutdown at this time.

Clients receiving benefits are encouraged to keep their information up to date and apply at Maryland Benefits, to ensure you continue to receive all benefits when the shutdown ends. As the situation evolves, information will be shared as it becomes available.
