In Montgomery County, Moderately Priced Dwelling Units (MPDUs) are affordably priced homes, both new and resale, offered to first-time homebuyers with a moderate household income. To apply for an MPDU, interested applicants must meet the following requirements:
First-Time Homebuyer: Applicant and all household members must not currently own a home and must not have owned a home anywhere in the past five (5) years.
Household Income Requirements: The current minimum household income is $40,000, while the maximum income limits are updated annually, typically in April.
Educational Training Courses: Three free online training courses in this order: 1) an orientation seminar, 2) a first-time homebuyer class, and 3) an application tutorial, which provides detailed information about the program, the home-buying process, and how to select available MPDU properties.
