Montgomery County's Moderately Priced Dwelling Unit (MPDU) Purchase Program offers affordably priced townhomes and condominiums (both new and resale) to first-time homebuyers who have a moderate household income. Persons who are interested in the opportunity to purchase an MPDU must attend three (3) classes which are held online. If they are determined to be eligible, they are given an MPDU certificate of eligibility which enables them to enter into a random selection drawing (RSD) for MPDUs that they are interested in and may have the opportunity to purchase that MPDU.

The MPDU Rental Program offers affordable rents at apartment complexes located throughout the County. Persons interested in the MPDU rental program must apply directly to the MPDU complex of their choice. The management companies at these complexes will provide an application, verify income and credit history, and determine eligibility or non-eligibility to rent an MPDU apartment at the individual complex.
