SMILE Program Through the African American Health Program

The goal of the S.M.I.L.E. (Start More Infants Living Equally Healthy) through the African American Health Program (AAHP) is to reduce the number of premature babies and babies with low birth weight, born to African American/Black women in Montgomery County. One must be a Montgomery County resident to be eligible for services, which include (but may not be limited to): childbirth and breastfeeding education classes; case management of mothers and infants, including home visits and telephone consultations; ongoing breast feeding support after delivery; customer referrals to public and private resources and support groups and networking opportunities.
