COVID-19 Requirement to Maintain Multifamily Building Common Areas

The following clarifies requirements under Code Section 26-9 Maintenance of Dwelling Units and Sec. 29-30 Obligations of Landlords for all multifamily properties:

CDC guidance provided in the "Cleaning and Disinfecting Your Facility" section of the CDC website must be used to meet required conditions of maintaining shared or common areas of buildings in clean and sanitary condition.

Cleaning and disinfecting of properties according to the CDC guidance must be performed at least once a day for all high touch surfaces and is recommended for higher frequency in high traffic common areas. Please click on the first link to view the CDC guidelines.

Every multifamily property must print out and post prominently in common areas the following informational flyers to assist residents in understanding best practices for staying safe
