Greater Seneca Transit Network

Greater Seneca Transit Network (GSTN) will launch Ride On extRa service along the Great Seneca corridor. MCDOT developed the GSTN as a near-term bus transit solution to provide direct, safe, and affordable transportation connections in the area which includes Shady Grove Metro, King Farm, Crown Farm, Rio, Kentlands, Adventist Shady Grove hospital and the Universities of Shady Grove as well as limits within the City of Rockville.

The first of two phases will include two routes referred to as Pink and Lime routes. The project includes new, upgraded transit stations, dedicated bus and bus plus bike lanes, transit signal priority, new roadway connections, upgrades to transit centers, as well as pedestrian and bicycle improvements. These transit services will provide frequent and reliable connections within the overall network.

Also, MCDOT will do a direct mail campaign this summer of 2023 to 866 households in the Crown Park Avenue and Decoverly Drive area of Gaithersburg. The purpose of the campaign is to inform residents of the area that MCDOT will be constructing bus stops and shelters for this new bus service.
