A household wishing to participate in the MPDU Program does not have to be a resident of the county or the state in order to participate. However, under the MPDU sales program, households who live and/or work in Montgomery County receive higher priority to purchase a unit. There is no such priority under the MPDU rental program. Owners of MPDUs must reside in their MPDU during the control period.
