Residential Electrification

Electrification, or fuel-switching, is the process of replacing technologies that use fossil fuels (natural gas, oil, and propane) with technologies that use electricity. By shifting to an all-electric home, County residents will receive climate, health, and economic benefits and will help the County meet our climate goals. Information about the Electrify MC pilot program, which includes an electrification help desk and incentives, can be found on DEP's website. There is also information on what can be electrified in residential homes, how to get started, and how to safely remove fossil fuels from homes.
