When an employee separates from County service, they receive a lump sum payment for their total accrued annual leave as of the date of separation, less any indebtedness to the County government. The payment will be made at the employee's current rate of pay.
The County will pay a Non-exempt employee: (under the Fair Labor Standards Act)- who leaves County employment for all unused compensatory time.
The County will pay an exempt employee (not covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act) who leaves County employment for up to 80 hours of unused compensatory time or a larger pro-rated amount if the employee's regular work schedule includes more than 80 hours per pay period and convert the hours for which an employee is not paid to sick leave.
