Assisted Living Facilities, Group Homes, Nursing Homes for Seniors or People with Disabilities

The Aging and Disability Resource Unit (ADRU) can assist callers in obtaining a list of group homes, and to discuss long term care options. Nursing facility information (such as location and services offered) can be found in the Positive Aging Sourcebook (link below). For further information, call 240-777-3000. Hours are Monday and Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM. The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program advocates for residents living in nursing homes and licensed assisted living facilities, including elderly group homes. The program has a large number of trained volunteers who regularly visit long-term care facilities, monitor conditions and care, and provide a voice for those unable to speak for themselves. Ombudsman help residents and their families understand and exercise their rights guaranteed by federal and state law. For additional information or to get in contact, call 240-777-3369.
